UNESCO includes Armenian epic poem in intangible cultural heritage list

Armenian epic poem “David of Sassoun” has been included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The meeting of the intergovernmental committee was held on Wednesday.

As reported earlier, the seventh session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage is being held in Paris from 3 to 7 December.

Armenia, Japan to cooperate in “One village, One product” program in Tavush

Armenia’s National Center for Small and Medium Enterprises and the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed on Thursday in Yerevan a memorandum of cooperation in the framework of the three-year program called ‘One Village, One Product’ (OVOP)).

Armenian government earmarks AMD 300 million in Armenia’s 2013 budget for promoting businesses

Vazgen Safaryan, chairman of the Armenian Union of Domestic Commodity Production, told journalists today that the government earmarked AMD 300 million in its 2013 budget for developing the economy and promoting businesses.

Companies will get these funds in loans or as investments.

Budget funds for Armenian defense and law enforcement institutions to be enlarged in 2013

Armenian government will allocate more budget funds to defense and law enforcement institutions in 2013 to offset their social pays, which will be taken from their employees’ salaries in accordance with the new income tax law that will take force on January 1, 2013, Deputy Finance Minister Pavel Safaryan said Tuesday during the budget hearings in National Assembly.
